Pinus Contorta, known as Beach Pine is a tall tree that grows in coastal strand and wetland. It is a common tree in western North America and it can grow up to 34.1meters with maximum width of 12.2meters. This tree has cones at the tip of the branches and the needles in the cones are held in bundles of two. The needles are pointed and live for four years to maximum of 13 years. They are about 4-8cm long and 0.9-3mm wide. The buds are egg shaped, sharp, and 20 and 30mm long. This plant could not grow at the ordinary houses because of its size and the soil that is needed. The maximum height of this tree is 112ft and it needs variety of soils. It would be hard to care this tree in a normal house.
