The pelvis in a female has a structure built to help the female carry the baby during the pregnancy and during labor, so the pelvis is wider than that of the males. In the male skeleton, the pelvis is taller and narrower. The pelvis in males does have more of a structure to it. It is built to help males carry a heavier weight; therefore, the pelvis has more muscle attachments. Pelvis pathologies vary from bone fractures pertaining to the pelvis or anything around those areas, such as ovarian cancer, ulcers, septate uterus and other deformities.
