I had depression and anxiety due to being the outcast at school. The summer of 2012 is where I found the solution to some of my problems, temporarily at least. Markiplier is someone who I felt had resembled me. He is someone I could in fact look up to in a time of need and he would tell me that it would be okay and I would get through it. I contacted this YouTube out of hope he would hear my cry for help, I was hesitant at first but after I had wrote the letter I was relieved and surprised to actually have gotten a response. I had described what was happening at home and at school and begged for an answer; although he could only help me temporarily solve the problem, he ended up helping me in so many ways. This man became my biggest role model in my life to strive for bigger and better and to get what I deserve. After our first contact point, we talked for a couple of the following months/year and then for some reason fell off. We talk every once in a while but now it is just almost impossible to get a response first, so I wait to get an email from him. Never once, have we texted or talked on the phone. The relationship 50% of the time is hostile; the other half people do not even realize the outcasts are there. More people do not realize the outcasts are there, the other part are the people that make fun of the outcasts, known as the bullies. Dealing with bullies is not always easy sometimes you just have to suck it up and take it, the other time I would recommend going to the counselor, a friend, or maybe even a teacher you trusted to talk with. The people who naturally are accepted by the public do not really experience what we outcasts do. They are not stared at constantly, laughed at, or mad fun of generally so they could not relate. However, those people also do not do anything to suppress what the bullies are doing and saying, which does not make them much different from the bullies after all.
Being a social outcast is not always easy, you are bullied, and laughed at sometimes publicly humiliated. When I came home and was upset about the following day’s events, my mom would always remind me “Lions don’t lose sleep over sheep”. If we take the time to talk to someone in need that is bullied, or has seen someone being bullied we can advise them to take immediate action, and apply the consequences for justice of that person or other
