Ouro Preto was founded in the 17th century, this town was a very large part in the gold rush and Brazil's golden age in the 18th century.Ouro preto is a city state in Minas Gerais. Ouro preto is a former colonial mining town located in Serra do Espinhaço mountains and designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of its outstanding Baroque architecture. The population right now in Ouro Preto is 70,227, the whole area of the town is 1245 km2. In this town there as a great sculptor by the name of Baroque Aleijadinho, This man was a very large part of Ouro Preto pride and glory.
