Mount Everest has several different names. People in Tibet call Mount Everest, Chomolungma, which means mother goddess of the universe. The people in Nepal call Mount Everest, Sagarmatha, which means goddess of the sky. Nepal has seen 4,421 summits, but have seen 176 deaths. China has seen almost half of that with 2,580 summits but with 106 deaths. The primary cause of death on Mount Everest is from a fall, avalanche, exposure, and altitude sickness.
