Hubble was launched in 1990 by NASA. It travels around the Earth at about 8 Kilometres per second. It is a large telescope facing space which takes photos of other planets and stars. It has two mirrors, the first is roughly 8 feet wide and the second only 1 foot in diameter. Both are made from glass with layers of aluminium, three-millionths of an inch thick, and magnesium fluoride, one-millionth of an inch thick.
