Frederic Chopin was one of the best known and most loved composers during the Romantic Period. He even amazed the Russian tsar and Alexander the First with his own musical talents. By the time he passed away, at the age of 39, he had written music of sublime beauty that revolutionized the art form and opened the door to all of modern music. Chopin’s musical talents were all devoted to the piano. He had over 200 solo compositions, all of which displayed his own melodic style. Most of his works written were meant either for a solo instrument or to combine with other instruments. Most of his solos are in shorter forms and are improvisatory by nature. Of which include 25 preludes, 15 polonaises, 27 etudes, 20 nocturnes, 58 mazurkas and 17 waltzes.
