The American alligator is found in the south-eastern USA through Florida and Louisiana also through the southern parts of Georgia, they live in fresh water environments. Smaller alligators are known to eat fish, small mammals and birds, but lager adults are known to attack larger animals such as deer and smaller other alligators. The most distinctive features for the alligator is it has a muscular tail half the total body length.
