Math is almost always used in chemistry labs: therefore, it is important to be familiar with rearranged different numbers to get what one is looking for in an equations. In Lab 4 of Chem 115, students were told to find density of an unknown substance and two differently shaped solids with what they were given. Students needed to know how to measure the mass and volume of liquids and solids to successfully get these measurements. They also had to know how to get the volume of a solid using the volume of water and the volume of the water with the substance in it.
