When he came there he was making a huge difference in the community. If it wasn’t for him, then the team wouldn’t of been able to get through their differences and come together. He also impacted the older adults in the community. He showed them that even if they did whatever in their power to try to break him he still was going to coach, and that showed courage and dedication that the team needed to see. When he and the other coaches didn’t see eye to eye, he showed them that just because he was a different race, he couldn’t be a good example to the football…

Even when the black children did integrate the white schools, they were in the face of death everyday. The teachers didn’t do anything to help either. In the book it says, “A boy stood over me shouting insults while the teacher and the entire study hall looked on.” (Beals pg.265) This shows that the adults/teachers did not do anything to help the minorities in any way and left them to be bullied. The treatment of minorities has been very bed throughout…

The movie “Friday Night Lights” is based on a real life best seller “Friday Night Lights: A Town, A Team, and a Dream”, by author H.G. Bissinger. The movie’s setting takes place at Permian High School in Odessa, Texas in 1988 when the tension between races were still strong in some areas of the south. There is some focus in some areas of the film that has to do with racial tension and the ongoing conflict between the student body and the city as a whole. Even though desegregation had happened by the time the book was written and the film was made, the schools at times were still racially divided. I also felt the movie showed how this football program exploited their black athletes.…

Vineet Nayar extensively followed the change models proposed by Lewin and Kotter. Kurt Lewin developed a three stage model of planned change that discusses how to initiate, manage, and stabilize the change process. The three relevant stages are known as unfreezing in which you create a motivation to change, changing, by implementing your new strategies and structure in place, and refreezing in which you support and maintain your change (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). For example in the case study, Vineet implemented the 3 stages of Lewin change model in how he wanted to see change take place and he exhausted several avenues to come up with new innovative ways to be productive and competitive, allow his employees to add more value,…
