This sacrifice is an offering to God to thank him for the blessings and generosity. This ceremony also signifies that like “Abraham” who sacrificed his son, the pilgrim also gives up all his worldly desires. The ceremony of sacrifice provides Islam with a sense of understanding among each other and unanimity.
Taking off the Irham: After all the above mentioned ceremonies, the pilgrims take off their respective irham. The pilgrims then get ready for the “Tawaf” (circumambulation) around the “ka’ba” (cube). The Tawaf has to be performed on the 12th day of Dhul Hajjah before the sunset. Each day before going to the Tawaf, the pilgrims are supposed to throw 21 pebbles at the three pillars. Making the Tawaf: This ceremony is mandatory to be conducted. Here, the pilgrim has to position himself/herself in front of the “Hajar al- Aswad,” the black stone at the sacred mosque that encloses the Ka’ba. While reciting the prayers, the pilgrims are supposed to circumambulate the Ka’ba. Kissing the Hajar al- Aswad: Following the example of the Prophet, the pilgrims are required to circle around the Ka’ba trying to get close to the black stone and kiss
