There is no denying just how powerful love is and in the “The Taming of the Shrew” we follow two characters, Bianca and Katherina, to see how marriage has an affect on their lives and personalities. In the beginning of the play Katherina displays characteristics of being a poor stereotype such as being ACRIMONIOUS, IGNOBLE, and INTEMPERABLE. There is a strong DISSENSION within the audience if Kat is simply playing Petruchio by letting him think he's in control of her or if she is truly broken. But in the end one can see how much her personality is changed by one man in her life, Petruchio. Before Kat meets him she isn’t loved or even liked by anyone in the book, not even her own sister. The first time Petruchio and Katherina come into contact you can already see that she is immediately challenged by his wittiness and can tell she is already giving into him(II.i.200-307).
