How Does Technology Affect Design?

Technology is rapidly developing and is a significant role in our life. Design is affected by technology as it is essential need for people. My motivation of this topic is to dig in the relationship between technology and design, not only what technology inspires design but also the issue that technology makes. The changes have been made over time in terms of material, society and culture. A design is given vary meanings in different ages, environment and culture. This paper discusses how technology influences our life, whether it is good or bad. Also, how technology evokes product design to improve people’s life. It grows a lot faster than that we have imagined. We have to admit that technology is potentially changing our society with the speed that we do not notice. Technology allows us to make our life more convenient regarding work, study, shopping… etc. The design of a product has enormous different with past few generation. For instance, the initial invented computer to portable tablet computer, the amazing evolution of computer is one of the significant achievement to prove the rapid growth of technology. The first electronic general-first computer, known as ENIAC was designed by the engineers in the University of Pennsylvania’s Moore School of Electrical Engineering for the United States Army’s Ballistic Research Laboratory. The intention of designing ENIAC was calculating artillery firing tables. The technology was invented for the war where new digital method has to be made to against the attack by the enemy.
