Through concepts analyzed in KIN400, champion clinical quality, professional conduct, and communication can be better understood. Champion clinical quality upholds clinical quality and care management standards of care. Patient-centered care and nonmaleficence, defined by Doherty and Purtilo, are two ethical principles that directly relate to upholding quality care. Patient-centered care emphasizes the well-being of the patient and nonmaleficence means to do no harm and is the nexus of traditional healthcare ethics (Doherty & Purtilo, 2016). With that being said, clinical quality refers to assuring patients, their families, and coworkers that they will experience a safe, collaborative and welcoming environment that continually seeks ways to improve the nursing home. Through the evaluation of prototypes, guidelines, and ethical codes, I have further developed myself professionally and ethically. This will not only advance me in my career as a physical therapist, but will also ensure that my patients receive the highest quality of care. By applying a greater knowledge and respect to the ethical principles, health professions can be the change our society wishes to see in the
