A couple months’ ago fifteen other colleagues, and myself from Candler School of Theology setoff on a mission trip to Kenya, Africa. To be the hands and feet of Christ Jesus in two differing parts of this region, Nairobi and Meru. A mission, which had me anxious yet excited, weary yet overjoyed, and fearful yet captivated.
Nevertheless, God placed this once in a lifetime opportunity before me. I had a deep yearning to move forward on this trip with no expectation, however, I had more questions than answers. Fear had my mind in overdrive. And almost succeeded in terrifying me from even taking this excursion. But the truth of God’s word ablaze my soul. God’s grace and mercy, by His strength allowed me to wait patiently to have those questions answered once I boarded for a very long flight to the unknown, and landed on Kenyan soil. As a result, from the day I arrived in Nairobi, to the very last moments I spent in Meru, my mission to Kenya had been a transformative experience.
My heart’s desire was that my colleagues and I would have eyes to see our loving God all around us, at all times, in all ways. Additionally, that we would be able to see God’s hands, and God’s feet, in His children from Kenya, with a longing to show that same grace to each and …show more content…
I found it gratifying to have been amongst, a group of God-fearing, faith-sharing leaders, and panelist who shared their time, gifts, and wonderful insights. I have been holding on to each day, each moment, and every conversation by cherishing them all, and allowing them to shape my very own personal faith-sharing pursuits. I am grateful to God for providing this time for me to share with the Kenyan people the love of Christ Jesus. What I know for sure, is that God’s love is very much prevalent in the lives of those He placed in my path while journeying through Nairobi and
