If I am writing for an audience who has knowledge of my topic, I will make sure that I thoroughly understand the topic because I want the audience to know that I have a great understanding of the topic. If my audience has no prior knowledge of the topic, I will break down the topic in the most easily comprehendible way that gives the audience insight of the topic and its theme. For an audience that I am trying to persuade. I want to make sure that I include the facts, and not just my opinion. This is important because everyone has opinions, but if they can not support their opinion with facts it is useless to include. I also wanted to make sure that my word choice was the most helpful. If I am writing for a child I do not want to use huge words that they are not easily able to understand, rather I would take a more logical approach and choose words that they are familiar with. However, if I am writing for a instructor of college student, I choose to write from a scholarly background. As far as writing styles and methods, If I want to write an argumentative paper, I will include my personal opinion that can be supported by the facts. If I am writing to inform, I leave my opinion out and just use a nonbiased factual
