Fox sums up the definition of family as, “Family is not an important thing. It 's everything.” Like briefly said before, within a family, there is love and there are people who care for eachother and do anything to see one another smile and happy. The teachings of the bible on family are very positive in the way that everyone is family. We call each other brothers and sisters and our priests are fathers. In that way alone, family is easily seen as an important factor in the church. Proverbs 6:20 simplifies family as, “My son, keep your father’s command and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.” Our class’s views are similar in the way that family is very important to everyday life and that we need to care for them. We also made a joke about why would we be mad at a person who gave birth to us. I agree with the church and class that what makes people 's lives happy and gives people a reason for living everyday is our families because they are the ones who are there for you at all costs. Groundhog Day’s theme was that people can change for the better if they put work toward it and being successful. In the Emperor’s Club, the theme was to not judge a book by its cover. I believe that it is the theme because the main character looked like he changed for the better but in reality was cheating to look smarter in front of his teacher and his parents. Even though they are not the same theme, they both are involved with people changing or staying the way they were. In the bible the church sums up change in Deuteronomy 31:6, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Our class had different points of views on if people can really change and if the movies are true. The results were split even with half thinking that people can and the other half thinking they cannot. I agree with the church and that people can change and that god is with you through the change. If someone puts time and effort into changing, there is no reason why they would not change for the better. The two movies were very important to our discussion about becoming the best man that we could possibly
