Another time her life was very difficult was when she had to leave Mexico and Move to America. Esperanza’s uncle threatens the safety of her family causing them to need to escape to America where they will not be controlled by Tio Luis. Esperanza and her Mama were torn from their family and brought to a new environment and life which is quite a big difficulty. Esperanza is a stuck up, clueless ric daughter, but Tio Luis is an awful uncle who shreds the only things she loves for power. Esperanza is not capable of dressing and being in the class she is now in, as a peasant. Esperanza is now in a peasant camp in America and the living arrangements are not what they used to be. Esperanza lives in a tiny cabin with only two rooms. She works for hours until her hands are so dry she smears avocados on her hands. She does chores and takes care of little children. Esperanza has always lived a privileged life where someone else does the work and she relaxes in her nice dresses around her expensive dolls. Esperanza is forced to adjust to what she thinks are awful conditions. She stumbles and makes stupid mistakes but overtime learns the ways at
