Personal Narrative: My Experience As A Music Teacher

From the time when I was a young student in the public school system, I wanted to be a music teacher. Music has always been a strong pull in my life. I have learned most of my common school skills with music. I have always loved to sing with the radio when I was with my mom in the car, I loved to sing my abc’s, I loved to sing my times tables, and also my states and capitols. When I got to middle school I picked up the trumpet for the first time. I loved to play and loved my teacher, but I had braces which got me to change my mind on band class till I became a freshman at Gooding High school. One of them have been for a class requirement. This experience has gave me an insight on how a classroom runs on a daily level. I now know how the students act from the first week to the last day of school. I have also been able to conduct tests and lessons which has showed me how to deal with failed lessons and turn them around.
My second professional experience was at the Boys and Girls Club in 2014, where I was required to volunteer there by helping kids with homework and tutoring them with math. I learned not only how to deal with kids that don’t want do work, but also learned how to control a group of students that don’t know you and think they can push your buttons. This club is a great place for kids to get involved in and for teachers to work at outside of school. With this experience and my ability to multitask, use different teaching styles, control new students, and connect with kids makes me a great candidate for the department of education. I see myself Graduating quick and with lots of experience most people don’t possess when they start teaching. Teaching is an area that requires a lot of attention and focus in order to succeed at your job and succeed at changing the students’
