I will not be able to fully identify these changes for years as they are still unfolding, but I can pinpoint one specific way I am changing right now. While my way of thinking is still most like virtue theory, I still agree with certain aspects of other theories we have been learning about. Among one of those is care ethics which stresses that “...our most fundamental moral obligation is to interact with other persons as caring" (Burnor & Raley 246). Relationships are an extremely basic aspect of humanity yet they are so important. The world would be nothing like it is today if it were not for the myriad amount of relationships that have been created, nurtured, and expanded on throughout history. Another theory I connect with a lot is feminist theory. Unfortunately throughout the study of ethics, “one major criticism feminists have made of traditional Western ethics is that it has either devalued or ignored issues or spheres of life that are associated with women, whether the association be empirical, normative, or symbolic (Jaggar 85). Historically women have always been placed second to men and I believe it is time women had something that specifically discussed the issues and challenges that affect them. Feminist theory also advocates for there to be a light shined on issues around inequality, oppression, and injustice and that is something I feel strongly about. These issues have plagued both women and people of color for generations so if someone is doing something to challenge this then I am all for it. Ultimately this theory promotes justice and equality and I know that is something I can support. These are only the few theories I have learned about too, so I am sure that as I learn more there will be other aspects of other theories that I agree with and gravitate
