Can you imagine what life would be without colour? Thinking of it gives me chills of a nightmare. Well in “The Giver”, pretty much all the people in Jonas’s community can’t see, or even know of colour. In my opinion, being able to see colour is an extremely remarkable, and is an important physical trait that most humans have. It is important in things such as physical appearances, emotions and last but not least, culture and symbolism.
Physical appearances to me is highly important. Being able to have colour in how you look on the outside can, really change a lot of things. Without colour, clothes would just be bland and boring. Being able to have colours to pair up, and match my clothes each day is something I really treasure and fear to lose. Colours of clothing can also change the way people look at you. Without colour our world would just be so sad and depressing. Everything will just be boring, hue and gloomy. Basically, just a sad, sad world we’ll have. Different colours can mean different feelings and emotions. Like red for anger, ferocity, confidentsy or love. And gray for gloomy, sad and hurt. I think that expressing your feeling in colour is a great thing. You don’t have to say a word but, people can just tell how you feel. Usually when you are feeling some kind of emotion you don’t really know how to express it and, colour can help a lot with that. Having colour will just make people moods and, emotions they have more on the brighter side. The world will just be more colourful, joyful, fun and happy. I know the world has colour now and, isn’t the best, but there is still beauty in things. So, be thankful that we have colour in this world to make it more enjoyable. Don’t take it for granted because, it could be gone one
