Reflection On The David Owsley Museum

When I was at the David Owsley Museum I was looking at art pieces that had more of a realistic feel. This piece caught my attention and then I listened to the audio and I really enjoyed the two pieces of art being placed together. There were three things that caught my attention with the music and then I noticed that things we discussed in art connected directly to the ideas from music. The first thing that was intriguing to me was the tone color. Next, the dynamic was interesting and related to the way the painting was designed. I feel as if the music created a different meaning for the piece. When I was just looking at the piece it just seemed like a representational piece of artwork and nothing more. Once I connected the song and analyzed the painting at the same time I notice how surreal the painting actually was. The artist used colors that are very similar to the true colors which shows it is a more realistic piece of artwork. It caused me to appreciate how important the piece was. The music brought the picture to life in my mind and made me feel as if I was standing on the shore watching how powerful the waves and how strong the water was coming in. The tone color, duration, and the overall content connected together to help me understand this art piece for what it is actually worth. I was able to gain a new understanding of how music and art connect together and help the experience that is brought together by a piece of artwork be understood for what it is actually worth and means. Artwork is something I have never truly acknowledge how impactful art is in my everyday life and how music and a picture can come together in a lot of different situations to create a more vivid memory of a certain piece of artwork.
