When I went to computer science class, male is lots more than female. As computer science class require certain Math skills, lots of people say that men outperform women in mathematics and that is the reason why computer science class have almost no girl are enroll in this class. However, I do not agree that men are better then women in mathematics (Taking Sides, Issue # 12,p.250) because I was very bad in mathematics until a female personal tutor help me to clear my mind and teach me how to think logically. Girls can be good at mathematics like my tutor and boys can be bad at mathematics like me in 6 years ago. I personally believe that everyone can be good at mathematic despite of gender, ethnicity, race, ability, and economic class.

Society creates many stereotypes that are distinguishable by the general public such as, the saying boys will be boys and the correlation between girls and the color pink. Personally, I grew up as a tomboy, and still am today at age eighteen. Growing up as a girl does come with its own set of expectations that society sets. When I was in elementary school I always hung out with boys because we had common interests like playing soccer, going to the pool, and playing videogames. I never realized how much I defied the social norm.…

Girls are recognized as equal to boys in textbooks and now there is a much less significance in the stereotype that boys are better at a certain subject than girls are. Today, the stereotype is more along the lines of boys being better at shop. Which is most likely because few girls take shop classes. It is also believed that girls are better at art because more girls take art classes than guys. “Girls are encouraged to think of themselves in future careers not only as mothers, nurses, secretaries or teachers, but also as scientists, doctors, lawyers and engineers.”…

I was born a woman; probably my father wasn’t so happy about my gender. Perhaps he wanted a boy named after him. I can’t remember my first thought as a baby, but I’m sure I wasn’t able to distinguish between males and females, or the fact that the doctor was a male and the nurse was a female. I just knew I wanted to love and be loved regardless of my race, sex, or religion. My friend Melissa was raped, and it was her fault.…

Frequently, we can often recognize and acknowledge overt sexism, but avoid tackling our bigger obstacle, the driving force behind gendered behaviors, our gender roles. Self reflection is the mental process that acquires knowledge and understanding through thoughts and experience which helps encourage self awareness. This essay focuses on assessing my objectives and how I have developed my skills from the beginning of this semester until now. At the start of semester A, I wasn’t confident in preparing for the skills sessions and workshops. I wasn 't always able to find the correct answers to the workshop questions set which made it relatively difficult for me to participate in lectures despite finding myself at the library every other day. I began by listening to knowledge based lectures online and making notes alongside the recommended reading given by my lecturers or the module guide.…
