Militarism is one of the most reasons that made World War I unpreventable. Firstly Militarism lead to organized armies and new powerful weapons were created by the largest European countries. Firstly the increasing tensions between the major powers of Europe led to the formation of two major Alliances. The first Alliance was the Triple Alliance which was formed in 1882 and it was between Germany, Austria- Hungary, and Italy and this basically meant that if one of these countries entered war all of the other countries will support and help each other. The second Alliance was the Triple Entente which was formed in 1907 and it was between Britain, France, and Russia. The main goal of the Triple Entente was to stop the Triple Alliance from conquering Europe. Secondly these alliances guaranteed a large war between the major powers if one country from any of the alliances attacked another country from the other alliance( Llewellyn, Alliances). Finally the event that marked the beginning of the war happened and this event was the assassination of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand which happened in June,28,1914. This officially started the war because the Serbian government was blamed for the assassination of the Archduke by Austria- Hungary and this lead to the tensions between the major Alliances (Llewellyn, Alliances).
