Reasons Essay: Why I Transfer To The United States

Why transfer? I had contemplated on this same question when I decided it is time to move on when I transferred to my current school. The same question yet I had never felt so different. I used to be an eager freshman with grand ambitions, who is striving to adapt into a new environment, new culture and new education system, whilst still a part of me is; I now am transferring with a clearer picture, with renewed affirmation and motivation, to continue on my quest and to achieve my dreams – the specific reason I have come to study in the United States.
Although I was tested with numerous challenges, I was not ready to give up the first time around. I knew I must complete what I started. I knew it did not feel right to go back empty hand without having done anything. Realizing the need for a change and a fresh start, I transferred to my current college - Foothill college. I have always been a firm believer of the American dream; embedded in my mind is the maxim that hard work will pay off. Having studied here for a few years, I could confirm that this place, where opportunities are abundant and social mobility is a real possibility, will never disappoint aspiring international students like us. Unlike other students, however; I believe the process is as much important as the end goals, if not more. I have been blessed with my decision to transfer to Foothill, and I am sure it will be the same as well this time. I have chosen Foothill because of its quality education, unique location, excellent opportunities and wonderful diversity, not that my first college is lacking in any of them. However, I have no regrets in transferring. I have no doubt that I will be able to enjoy a truly unique and wonderful experience at my new college as
