History of the Reese’s Chocolate Company Reese’s is a popular candy company that was “established” somewhere around 1920 by H. B. Reese. It has become a favorite among the many great chocolate companies. Reese was born on a dairy farm owned by his parents, Aquilla Asbury and Annie Belinda Reese, on the 24th of May in the year 1879, in York County, Pennsylvania. In 1900 on the first of August, he married Blanche Edna Reese and they went on to have 16 children, which got difficult to keep up with, so he decided he would need to find another job to help pay for everything their huge family would need. B. Reese died the sixteenth of May, 1956, but not before his sons sold the company to Milton S Hershey to spend more time with their father. Yes the man Reese had worked for all those years ago was the man who decided that Reese’s company was too good to go to waste. He did exactly what Reese’s sons had done, and kept everything the same that was already there, including Reese’s famous Peanut Butter Cups, also known as Penny Cups which cost only one penny at the time, thus the name.
Hershey and his successors did, overtime, add on to the list of “Reese’s” products and developed things like Reese’s Pieces, (shaped after M&M’s) many miniature versions of other Reese’s candies, and even Reese’s Puffs.
Reese’s candies and cereal have been produce across the country and even in other nations around the world. They have had various adaptations and modifications such as the Easter versions, Christmas versions, even the limited edition Dark Knight Trilogy versions when owners shaped the Peanut Butter Cups like Batman’s deadly signature weapon, the batarang.
