Reading Or Hate Writing

Most of these literacy narratives are going to be about how most of these students hated reading and writing, but explained a big creative story of how they learned to love it and now live and breathe writing. That's not me. Ever since I was little i've never been very good at writing or reading. When I was younger my Grandparents and Mom always made up fiction stories rather than reading them. Which persuaded me to talk more and read less. In Elementary I always knew I was a “weak” reader, but loved writing. Until my 6th grade research paper was assigned. That’s when I discovered that I absolutely hate writing with a passion. I could come up with an exaggerated misrepresentation saying throughout the years i've wrote so many essays and …show more content…
I found myself singing all the time, which is when I discovered a new way of reading, but without words. I found reading music was less stressful than actually reading, and I enjoyed it.
In my sophomore year I had to read classic books like the “The Great Gatsby” and “To Kill a Mockingbird”. We had many writing projects to go along with the books, and I actually didn't mind doing the essays. That is after I was done with the projects. As Mrs. Rassler assigned them I dreaded thinking and doing the projects, but after every project I did I felt so accomplished and by the end of the year I felt confident in my writing skills. Over my sophomore year I felt as if I needed to work on expanding my vocabulary, and that's what I did. I downloaded a vocabulary builder app on my phone to gradually expand my vocabulary limits.
Now i'm sitting here in Mr. Bolton's college level composition class listening to him talk about all the upcoming assignments coming later in the year and all I can think of is “what did I get myself into”? The answer to that is to explore new topics i've never even thought about before and to focus on writing and becoming a better

Beginning from grade school through middle and high school, we learn how to read and write as we grow. More importantly, we learn how to grab and hold onto many things; the illusions that we aim to achieve, called dreams. The drive to push and better yourself to grasp onto unexpected possibilities, we call opportunities. The belief and confidence that you hold within you, we call faith. Independence as your hope, in all experiences that you’ll be able to make something towards your future.…

In order to write a Literacy Narrative, you must first choose one specific moment or topic that you think is very significant to you or interest you. The first thing I do when it comes to writing is that I make my own space. I make sure I stay in a quiet room where I am able to think, focus, and concentrate on my writing. Then I start recapping my moments, and just start writing whatever comes to my mind to express my words and thoughts through writing. After a while, I take a few breaks in between where I get myself a little snack or a drink and then later on, I start working on my paper.…

My freshmen year I had learned how to do N.E.R.D. words and it was the first time I had ever done it and it was hard for me to get the concept of it but I finally got it.…

Literacy and I have a love-hate relationship. I want to love it, but at the same time, I hate how hard it is for me to read and write. I didn’t learn how to read until I was out of elementary school. It wasn’t until freshman year of high school that I learned how to write a structured paragraph. My teachers didn’t teach me how to read and write.…

Given these points, I believe that literacy narratives have more of a positive influence on students rather than a negative one. Literacy narratives tend to be really useful for the fact that the writer can voice their academic experiences freely without being burdened with stress about not having a right answer. Also, these specific narratives allow the readers to connect with the writers through the piece. The readers are able to see how the writer develops who they are based on what actions were being taken to overcome the academic challenge. At the same time, the reader can see what skills or appreciation the writer has gained from their academic struggle.…

In this literacy narrative Emily is trying to define herself as a write or not. At some point she feels like she is not a writer, even she has been a writer for her whole life. She doubts herself to define as a writer since she didn't noticed her talent herself instead her kindergarten teacher did. Sometime in our lives, we think back to where we used to and not believing what we had accomplished in the past. It's not because we are not deserved who we are at this point, it's because we are wondering how we become one.…

Out of all of the things I can do academically, writing is probably my most frustrating experiences in school. While writing has never been my strong trait throughout my life but without it, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Recently a few years ago, my most successful time when I was writing was writing a psychology research paper that connects the bystander effect to various scenarios of bullying. While creating this research paper, I had to combine all of my experiences and skills in order to put this paper together very well. Writing requires successes and failures at certain times, to help build the individual to become the writer that they are.…

I have always considered my relationship with writing to be very insignificant. Although I enjoy spending time verbally expressing my thoughts and feelings to others, it becomes difficult when these thoughts and feelings are expressed through writing. Throughout my adolescent years, I would often receive feedback for my writing given by the teacher in the form of a grade. Being unable to effectively organize my thoughts and ideas into words and sentences, I would feel reluctant to continue writing confidently whenever I received an undesirable grade.…

I’ve always loved to write. I write to express the thoughts and feelings I don’t like to share aloud. I write as a release, to free myself from the confines of my mind and to get everything I’m holding in so tightly out of my head. As a freshman, I skipped English 1201 and entered 1202 with no formal college writing instruction. I was confident in my abilities to write and excel in the course, as my passion for writing made English my best subject since elementary school.…
