Reading Log #1 Response

Waiting, in anticipation, for president kennedy’s motorcade, I set up my camera to take a home movie of the president parading down elm street. I hear shouting as I see him in the distance, soon his red convertible drives into my camera’s view and I hear a gunshot go off, BANG people look around in confusion… My view of kennedy is obstructed by a sign as I hear another shot go off, but when he emerges into my view he is keeling down in pain. A few seconds later, I jostle my camera as his head is blown off, the crowds scream in disbelief… I hope the film turns out okay.

Part A:
My inference is that the pigs are much smarter and self-interested than the other animals in the book.
I can support this inference with multiple text details. First of all the pigs force the other animals to work for them, while they themselves do nothing. The pigs also lie to the other animals at almost all times, only to benefit themselves. They live like kings, while the other animals barely survive in stalls with minimal amounts of food. At the end of the book the pigs craft the ultimate rule “ All animals are equal but some animals are MORE equal” Stating how self interested they are.

The pigs even end up making rations and livelihood Worse them they were before the animals took over.

-lie to other animals about almost everything (rations, livelihood etc.
-make up things that benefit themselves (food, laws, h=guards)
-force other animals to do work while they do nothing and live like

Did you know, pigs are probably the most intelligent domestic animals known to man? Even more so than cats and dogs! This is why it may come as a surprise to some when they read “The Story of the Three Little Pigs.” This is because the first two pigs, despite what is said about them, are shown as very unintelligent animals; they make houses out of flimsy material, allowing them to be blown down and the two pigs to be eaten by the Wolf. The third Pig, however, lives up to his pig name and built his house out of a much more durable material, that material being brick, and tricking the Wolf that had eaten his siblings, demonstrating his intelligence.…

At least, that is how the animals thought they remembered it. Now, it appeared to be four legs good, two legs better, all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. Equality is an argument that is fought throughout the entire world. In Animal Farm, by George Orwell, the animals decide to fight the humans for their equality. Equality is a subject that today’s society has ignored greatly, due to heated debates and long arguments.…

“At the foot of the end wall of the big barn, where the Seven Commandments were written, there lay a ladder broken in two pieces. Squealer, temporarily stunned, was sprawling beside it, and near at the hand there lay a lantern, a paintbrush and an overturned pot of white paint” (Orwell 73). This is to make the pigs seem like they are still abiding by the commandments, when in reality they are exploiting the commandments to suit themselves. They no longer care about Animalism as they cease to benefit from this philosophy. The pigs, who have become the leaders due to their manifest intelligence, have become what they resented from the start.…
