Reading And Writing Analysis

Reading and writing have been passions of mine since the moment I first learned to read. I grew up reading all the time and writing fun stories, whether it be on a computer or paper with a pencil. Getting lost in worlds of adventure across fantasy and history continues to bring joy into my life, which is found in both reading and writing. A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to start writing a book with the intent of trying to get it published. While I had an idea in mind with much of the plot and characters detailed out, the process never truly began or continued.

Last year, I decided that I would finally work towards writing the book of a world I had been living in for over a year. During the summer, I changed my mind but kept the idea of writing alive and decided upon a new storyline set during the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. I continued to brainstorm ideas but refused to begin entirely working on the project itself until it was officially assigned after school began. Throughout my time at Odyssey, my ability to write has dramatically increased from purely a passion to an aspect of myself that my peers know me by. History has also long been a fascination of mine, and writing about the Salem Witch Trials would allow me to access another world from another time and better appreciate the historical aspect. Producing a piece of writing is also a way to spread this information and knowledge to those willing to read it.
