The study is to see how students sometimes engage and learn even when they don’t take part in online discussions. Beeaudoin wanted to see if he was correct when he “reasoned that online students sometimes engage and learn even when not taking part in online discussions. He also investigated how student collaborative behavior and integration in the community related to success. They also wanted to know online activity and discussions postings relate to learning and course completion. (2009)

There were also exceptions that is not able to be explain. Some students were discontented with students in the learning community who was absent without a reason from group assignments or who made shallow and insufficient contributions. The results also show that students can be proactive if internet access was not available for them to actively participate in the class. Students could be visible without contributing to the class. The study also show that trust was gain when students contributed to the class. The online community was able to function in spite of differences that some students had with each
