Sound is the result of vibrations in the air set by the motion of an instrument or a body movement. In this case of the concert, the sound in the Mariachi Fuego piece had its distinctive sounds with the high pitch of the performer in the background of one piece and lowness of the singer in the first piece. Specifically, the singer sung in a medium to low pitch and was accompanied by different instruments who also sung to accompany him in harmony at specific times. The second piece, Cordoba, had a romantic mood to it and had a change in dynamic levels throughout the piece. In the beginning of the piece, it was calm and the tempo was slow. From the slow tempo, the dynamics of the gradually went to a crescendo in which they sounded more exuberant. The piece went from a slow tempo to a gradual fast tempo in which it seemed like the performers were expressing themselves along the piece. It was as if they expressing themselves with the dynamic of the piece. The second part was the orchestra in which the conductor guided the performers in how they played. For instance, in one of the pieces, Javier Mendoza had the performers go from a crescendo to a decrescendo. This is when they players went from a louder tone to a softer …show more content…

The dynamics are much like the tempo. The dynamics go from piano to fortissimo. This shocked the audience’s nerves. On Sunday, June 21st, I went to see the Dallas Symphony Orchestra perform “The Music of John Williams and Hollywood’s Great Composers” at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco. The concert was held in the church’s worship room at 6:30pm. This was a great place for the DSO to perform because the audience and the orchestra were very close and, in a way, felt more personal. The show included fourteen pieces: “Overture to Captain Blood by Korngold, ‘Tara’ – A Short Poem for Orchestra from Gone with the Wind by Steiner, arr.…

The event that I decided to go was BYU Baroque Ensemble, a production made by BYU students, taking place at Madsen Recital Hall Harris Fine Arts Center on November 3. The idea of making a baroque orchestra is where musician get together to make a perfect composition of music, the baroque orchestra is made up mostly of stringed instruments, when you listen you feel something different that makes you see it from another perspective, you just can’t stop listening and focus on every note that the musicians are playing. The type of instruments that were utilized in conjunction were the basso continuo, played by a viol, cello or bassoon. Other parts were added between the melody and the bass by a keyboard instrument, usually a harpsichord or organ and the development of tonal harmony, in which the melodic voices movement remains under the functional chord progression.…

Jazz Night Concert Report The concert that I chose to attend was Jazz Night which was held at the Arnette Scott Ward performing Arts Center on the Pecos campus. I decided to show up to this performance because I have always had an appreciation for the skill and talent it requires to play an instrument. Concert Critique I went to The Quapaw String Quartet concert Friday, March 23 that was in Bevens Music Room of Brown Chapel at 7:30 pm., which was a Dan C. and Sidney West Endowed Concert. I really enjoyed this concert because the performers are always magnificent, and they are great on conveying the underlying message or feeling of the pieces they play. The performers played pieces from the Classical and Romantic period, and they were in chamber music pieces because the instruments that the performers played were: two violins, viola, and a cello.…

1 in D major, “Titan,” was performed next. It was much longer in duration than the first piece. It showed uniqueness in that it incorporated everyday sounds into the music, such as bulge calls, bird songs, and dance tunes, which provided for a very wide variety of tone colors. The symphony began with a thick-textured undertone in the strings and a two-note “hunting call” in the woodwinds, which persisted throughout the piece. Also present was a bright fanfare in the trumpets, followed by a light descending melody played by the entire orchestra.…

Opening night, the dancers that performed in the University Dance Theatre production, had talent, agility, and graceful movements. The concert had a variety of dance genres, visual appeal, and emotions that each piece and the show overall represented. Humor, drama, and serenity were not emotions I thought I would receive while watching these dances. One thing I did not realize would make many of the pieces was how crucial and reliant lighting and graphics were necessary to make the piece more visually interesting. However, I was excepting similar dances and movements; even if, some pieces had comparable choreography and emotional appeal the diversity stood out.…
