Rape or assault occurs more frequently in the United States Military than the public thinks. It is vital to address these situations and consider which policies are not functioning properly. Currently, rape in the civilian society is viewed with horror and disgrace. When women or men are raped, a large number of them do not report it, since they are ashamed of experiencing such an enormity. They are also most likely disturbed or distressed to even speak about the incident. To speak about rape and assault, we have to speak about them with seriousness and thoroughness. Rape and assault is not simply an act against an individual, but a violent offense that can scar a person indefinitely. Rape occurs globally, including in the United States.
