Ram Buddies Research Paper

It has been several months since we have last communicated. During that time, my life as an eighth grade student has been extremely busy. Allow me to share with you a few of my activities. Beginning in January, I started taking volleyball lessons. In school, I am in the Ram Buddies program where I support other eighth grade students with special needs. Presently, I am selecting courses for my ninth grade curriculum.
Recently, all students at the Spring-Ford Eighth grade center were presented with the Course Book for ninth grade class selections. I plan to take six majors instead of five majors and two minors. The six majors include Academic English, Family Consumer Science, Honors Earth Science, Geometry, History, and Spanish II. I am certain I will enjoy Family Consumer Science considering that I favor cooking and sewing. When I graduate from college, I would like to become a meteorologist, entrepreneur, or a specialist who supports special needs children. I anticipate that my selected courses will help prepare me for one of these careers. I volunteer for the program, Ram Buddies at school. Ram Buddies is a rewarding program in which I assist special needs students with homework and studying. Moreover, I assist with non-learning activities such as crafts and games. Additionally, I chaperone these students on weekly

Thus far, I have acquired the skills of passing the ball, serving overhand, and setting the ball. Unfortunately, I failed to attend the first practice. As a result, I do not know how to properly serve underhand. Practice is every Friday night from six o’clock until six forty-five at the Anderson Farm Park. I relish a game we played in which a person serves the ball to the other side of the net and attempts to hit another player with the ball. If unsuccessful, they are required to sit where the ball landed. If they do strike another player, they earn a point. Volleyball is an enjoyable

I am helping out at the Jacob Hiatt Magnet School in a 4th grade class. Every week for 2 hours I am able to help students with their classroom activities. At the beginning, I use to just go around in class and help the students when they need help. Now, the teacher has me take the one or two students who are struggling and sit outside with them to help them catch up. This helps them to be able to be on the same page as everyone else and it makes it easier for the teacher as well because it gets really hard for one teacher to be able to keep everyone at the same page and finish the course material on time.…

In the past few years, I’ve volunteered with a variety of organizations from National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, and Key Club. I have also co-founded a Community Outreach Club at high school. Through the Church I’ve assisted with Vacation Bible School and middle school retreats. One of my favorite memories came from volunteering for the first time with National Spanish Honor Society. Choosing to participate in this program was not a difficult decision, since I knew I wanted to continue practicing my Spanish and volunteer in the community at the same time.…

I volunteered at the Forest Mall for the Tootsie Roll Drive. This organization provides service for those people with intellectual disabilities. What I physically did while volunteering at the Forest Mall was hand out Tootsie Rolls outside to the people that donated money. I also would kindly ask people to donate as they came in or out of the mall. I kept a kind and loving smile on my face to welcome anyone who was willing to donate.…

I’ve always loved the sound of rain. Its soft patter against my window releases me from the stresses of college applications, if only for a moment. Then, as quickly as it came, the rain stops its descent upon my window and retreats; growing up in Central Florida, I have been well accustomed to erratic weather patterns such as the rain coming and going in a moment’s notice. Florida’s weather has taught me a valuable lesson over the years: life can be as unpredictable as the weather.…

Throughout high school, I have been involved in many activities. I started off with the STEM academy in my high school. In the STEM academy, we held special events that teach people, especially kids, about new experiments and science-related careers. I helped out the STEM academy by explaining people about the experiments, the purpose behind the experiments and cleaned or organized lab equipment. I was a part of the STEM academy for approximately three years in high school and I really enjoyed it because I knew I could make a difference in my community.…

I expect eighth grade to be challenging, fun, and ultimately gratifying when I graduate from middle school to high school. There are many different ways I plan on completing the goals I have at the moment. Volleyball has been an important aspect of my life ever since I began in seventh grade and my commitment to the sport has grown with each year. Heading into high school, I knew that I wanted to continue with volleyball. To better prepare myself, that summer I went to a week-long intensive volleyball camp, where my skills increased exponentially. Back at home, I went to every open gym and beach volleyball session the varsity team provided. I wanted to prove that I was capable of playing at a high school level.…
