The fifteen year-old came to the clinic due to risky behavior whereby she ended up in a motor vehicle accident and was not wearing her seatbelt. She was not the driver and was in the backseat on the right side. Our strategy to help this adolescent and open up communication was first by discussing the results of her RAAPS test (she wanted her Mom to be present). We identified the area she needed help with and we offered support with reinforcement for healthy behavior eg. (Wearing a seat belt and helmet) that it saves lives and reduces injuries such as the one she sustained. The patient agreed that wearing a seat belt, being assertive if being put in a situation where there was peer pressure not to wear a helmet, protective
