ROTC Application

I am applying for the position of law clerk at Pellegrini, Seeley, Ryan & Blakesley, P.C. I believe that the skills I have acquired throughout my life would make me a perfect candidate to fill such a position. You will notice that while I attended the University of Delaware I participated in the Air Force ROTC program for three years. I chose to not get a commission in order for me to attend law school. Throughout my time with the ROTC program I learned many skills such as leadership, military discipline, time management, and how to be a good follower.

Additionally, I joined the National Society of Pershing Rifles. In this program, I took a leadership position, which further enhanced my leadership skills, and my ability to work with others. The training and experience I received through this program enhanced the skills that I had already acquired through the ROTC program. These skills helped me earn ROTC awards such as: the academic honors award, the warrior flight award, and the physical fitness award.

You will also notice that this past summer I interned at a law

Jessup International Moot Court Team. The team gave me great experience in researching legal issues and writing a brief for a panel of judges. Throughout my participation I developed skills in being able to critically think on complex international legal issues. I also gained valuable experience during the competition with arguing against other law schools in the northeast region.

Furthermore, I was also a volunteer fireman in my hometown for a period of six years. During this time I learned how to act under pressure and in highly stressful environments. Moreover, I developed skills in camaraderie and in being a good follower. I believe my above-mentioned skills and my prior working experience makes a great addition to Pellegrini, Seeley, Ryan & Blakesley, P.C. I appreciate you taking me under consideration as an

With the help of the JROTC mission of “To Motivate Young People to Become Better Citizens," I am one step closer every day to being the person I have worked so hard to be. This mission has helped me learn the values of law, truthfulness and trustworthiness, and has deepened my moral courage. I worked in a sales related field for over sixteen years. Some of the successful National Guard recruiters I worked with had big outgoing personalities while others were more reserved. Some of those that were really successful had the big personalites, but some of the more reserved recruiters also were very successful. That pattern worked both ways as there were also failures on both sides of the personality scale. Deeter-Schmelz, D., & Sojka, J. (2007), indicated that there are no conclusions that one personality type would be more successful than another when it comes to sales.…
