RMCAD Personal Statement

The reason that I'm interested in attending Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design is because of the 3D Animation degree that the college offers. I can contribute to RMCAD's professional community by contributing to the rest of the world, from local to global, by showing that the college helped further my critical thinking and creative skills. I will also help show the world that RMCAD is an excellent college for art and design that challenges and inspires their students. Another way I will contribute, is that when I graduate from RMCAD, I will go in the Animation field and furthering the college's great repetition. I want to pursue a career in the art and design fields for being an artist is part of my core being. I've been drawing ever since I could remember with crayons and pencils in my hands. At the moment I do representable, realism, and narrative works. For example, when I use pencil or charcoal I used both realistic and represtational, depending on what message I want to send to the viewers. When I paint with watercolor it's more implied than realistic. My digital artistic style is still considered a child because I have a lot to learn about the media. The current artistic digital style I have, you can see briefly in my portfolio. I'm doing my best to improve my digital skills and other forms of artwork to produce better pieces. Most of my artwork leans on animals because I understand the world better through them. In some of my artwork I've drawn and painted humans for many reasons. Some reasons I draw humans are because I'm curious about how the human body works, along with helping the viewers feel more connected with my artwork.
