That is the country that I believe in. Some take time off or quit their job to keep this country great. One example is a NFL player named Pat Tillman. The America I believe in is a country founded upon the basic right of freedom. Although often overlooked by many countries, freedom should be an essential part of any human’s life. Our Founding Fathers, who were strong advocates of freedom, took a risk by declaring their independence from the British tyranny. I feel that this risk that many considered to be unwise and rash, proved to be a brave and important decision that became an example for many countries who would later go on to declare their independence, such as Afghanistan and Egypt. The Founding Fathers had one thing that will prove to be a key constituent in many historical events: they had hope.…

America is the land of the free, because of the brave. Americans enjoy many freedoms because of the democracy our ancestors fought very hard to establish. Freedom summarizes what being an American is about, but it’s not what an American is. An American is someone who is brave enough to do something even though the punishment is severe, someone who sees opportunity and stops at nothing to achieve it, and someone who doesn’t take the easy way out. Bravery is part of the definition of an American.…

For veterans, sacrifice is a constant in their lives, be it the sacrifices they make at home, to leave their family and friends behind them for their country's sake, or on enemy lines, when they're selflessly putting their lives at stake for us. They become veterans because of their patriotism, their dedication to those around them, the pursuit of freedom, and for their beliefs. Everything this country is built on is protected by veterans’ blood, sweat, tears, and hard work. These sacrifices and their work are what make veterans so important. They pledge their lives to ensuring our safety and well-being, and when they come home, there is nothing to distinguish them from an everyday person.…
