For my expository writing sample, I chose an informative article on The History of Quilt Making in American Folk-art. After reading this article, I feel like it was effective. It met the criteria that was expected on all but one point that it contains no spelling/grammatical/sentence structure errors. I love quilts and this article gave me a good introduction into the world of quilts, the meaning of the word quilt, how they came about by necessity and that they were so common that they are not mentioned at all in the early history. The author then went on to describe the evolution of quilting through the ages to present day and she introduces different styles of quilting and even their origins.
