I want to write you this letter to express my approval of the 10 dollar per day child care plan in British Columbia. In 2016, many families these days are not receiving the financial support that they need in order to raise families in the province, especially in high-cost cities like Vancouver. As a result, only a small percentage (20 percent) of children are currently being raised in a licensed daycare setting (“Child care in Canada,” 2015). As a result, it is difficult to monitor the quality of care that occurs in other settings (i.e. home and private daycare). These other settings often are unregulated, with no safety standards (“$10 per day child care,” 2015).…

The main reason organisations have quality standards is to ensure that they –meet or exceed customer requirements, this in turn help retain customers and help make people buy their products or use their services. Standards provide benchmarks for performance. A benchmark is “a standard or point of reference against which things may be compared” within Real Skills we use benchmarks on a monthly basis they are mainly used to see whether we are meeting targets in sales. We are set a baseline figure I must meet on a monthly basis, I am given a target that I must meet which is then recorded and compared to past months and years to see trends within the organisation, this then can help prompt promotions and advertisements during slower months.…

James Popham notes that educators today are facing intense pressure to show their effectiveness. This is because their outcome is now measured by the outcomes of their standardized tests. When a school scores highly on the standardized test, it is seen that the staff are working efficiently. If the results are low then the school’s staffs are not effective. This system, the author says, is the wrong yardstick to use to measure the quality of education (Popham n.p.).…

The article I have chosen to read was Disappearing Act by Michael Gurian. This article specifically focused on how the male attendance at universities and higher learning institutions has changed dramatically over the years. For example, up until the late 1800’s women were not able to further their education. Perhaps the author wrote this article because he wanted to bring it to the audience’s attention about how the drop in male attendance has been increasing over the past couple years. But in order to get a better understanding we will first discuss issues that can be seen from the early school years, then we will look at what the universities and institutes were like then and finally, we will see what the universities and institutes look…
