The research methods I used for this analysis are interviews. I conduct standardized, open-ended interviews with the similar open-ended questions this approach allowed me to facilitate faster interviews that can be more easily analyzed and compared. I interviewed ten respondents, all adults who have identified themselves as musicians and Rastafarians. Through the use of open-ended questions I was able to discover their musical preference in relation to race, class. In addition to discovering musical preference in relation to race and class, I also focused on why they chose the musical careers they pursued.

It stood hard toward getting to know people who wanted to take the interview all the musicians that played there, were not excited to interview at that moment i had to befriend one of the musicians that I see from my community and he introduce me to the rest of the interviewees. This community that I am studying has a different way of practicing music. I spend most of my time at the event listen to the way the music is being played and the way they sing and preform because this event is the center gathering place for the Rasta
