I currently reside in this home with my mother Sammy Daley, Father Kevin Daley and two years Kim Daley and Sasha Daley. I recently came up on the information that our local historical pyramid Park Pool will be destroyed and replaced with a 40 story luxury condo gym to which I am deeply concerned. Pyramid Park Pool has been a historic landmark for my grandparents and to which has been passed on from generation to generation. During this …show more content…
Ratface has a four 40 story luxury apartments in the city of Florida and just like the promises you to build low-income houses in our community, he did the same in Florida City. They were not low income house because majority of the residence in Florida City could not afford these houses which effected the city for the worst. Do not be fooled by his pretty face, he is a devil and I want the world to know that”. Based on that statement it seems like Mr. Ratface has a history of doing whatever is necessary to gain what he wants like making …show more content…

While Goetz explains “Black Gentrification” as the displacement of low-income Black households by middle-class Black families, he emphasizes that this phenomenon is a result of a legacy of racial segregation and inclusion, coupled with the restricted mobility of the Black middle class (Goetz 1583). By highlighting the phenomenon roots in institutional racism and classism, Goetz reveals the intrinsic connection between the racialization of African Americans as the non-white “Other” and the capitalist, wealth-based hierarchy has served to further marginalize low-income Black households. Additionally, Goetz’s analysis of the greater frequency of state-sponsored demolition of public housing developments in predominantly African American communities with a high concentration of poverty and families receiving welfare assistance further highlights the neoliberal US housing policy, in which the displacement of low-income Black communities serves to reimagine urban spaces in ways that are favorable to private investments (Goetz 1582). Goetz’s analysis illuminates how dilapidation and neglect of housing projects in low-income, Black communities is intrinsically tied to how the US Department of…

This letter is a formal appeal to you for assistance with the tuition fees for continuing my education. I had to suspend my education at HBU (Houston Baptist University) because of the increment in tuition fee; I came from a family with no savings, my mother was a single mother (61 years old going to 62) who raised me in a low-income apartment life, no education nor funds for her ending years. HBU (Houston Baptist University) recently funded a football team in which they did well for their first year, and I believe this is the more reason the tuition fee was increased; I am not an athlete, but it is my wish that my dream of going to school come true. I am currently working but having my dream job will set my life in order forever for I am about entering into a new chapter of my life.…

The city’s rat problem has not been solved, but instead moved outside of the subway terminals for the entire public to observe. This problem was caused by the laziness of city officials, who decided to work “smart and not hard” to solve this problem. If officials would have solved the problem by creating more frequent trash pickups, then the waste overflow would be eliminated, and the rat’s “feast” would be over. Though individuals who are not citizens of new york cannot have a political impact on the city by voting, they can influence public policy through bringing these types of issues to the public’s attention.…

Public Housing in the United States has by many been considered to be a major failure. It has generally failed to provide its residents with a safe environment to live, and outside of the buildings often plagued with violence, segregation, lack of upward mobility, the failure to maintain the buildings for its residents, and unemployment have led to failure in the public housing system. While changes are being made to improve public housing and root out problems such as racism, and corruption within the housing authority, overwhelmingly the history of what was supposed to be a revolutionary way of living for urban poor, has been a failure. Due to the decline of the city at the time public housing arose, racism, and the failure of the federal…
