“Some people believe it is the ghosts of the coal miners, but no one knows for sure. My cousin went was exploring up there and got lost. They looked for months for him, but never found any trace of him. There are other people missing and were never found. The sheriff has a basket full of excuses about what happened. “What are you saying?” Ruth asked, convinced there was something up there, and wanted to know what it was.
“All I can tell you there is something up there that you don’t want to see. Neal could go with you, he is the strong one around here,” Tim, stuttered, looking at the other man who had not yet identified himself.

Dear Coach Williams, I have been a year long journey to the Tundra biome. It is very cold here and snows majority of the time. Summers bring wildflowers, but other than that it is mostly snow. This biome is found in the Arctic and has absolutely no trees and it does not get much rain here either. There is a lot of animals here: sheep, mountain goats, birds, grey wolves, polar bears, and very few other species.…

The group of friends standing right in front of us jumped and sang every word of the songs being sung. We were only 30 seconds into the first song he sang, there was no one in the crowd in sight just standing there. Days before, I remember counting down for the day to approach. Waiting for that day filled with country music, sunshine, cowboy boots, and hats. I miss them already. Despite the freezing cold snow and the nipping air, we had a lovely Christmas break. As I inspect my child, now grown with children of her own, holding tickets back to their home, longing envelopes me. Hoards of people push past, unaware of my pain, on their own schedules and heading toward different trains, talking and texting on their cell phones. My family boards, time as if in slow-motion, and waves goodbye until I see them again.…
