In this essay I will try to explain the extent of postmodern era and how it is characterized by pastiche, intertextuality and nostalgia by referring to Quentin Tarantino’s controversial and overrated Pulp Fiction. A movie that has been described as black comedy with visualy exaggerated secenes from the past. The name of this movie implies to the American pulp magazines that had graphic violence and punchy dialogue. Many critics have described this movie as an prime example of pastiche with plot trends that emerged from the post-classic movie era such as neo noir.
