This program seeks to aid unemployed or low-income New York residents by using technology to prepare all participants for the ever-changing workforce. With an emphasis on workforce development, I coordinate and instruct various workshops that ensure participants are not only qualified to gain employment but are also aware of the necessary soft skills that are required to sustain meaningful employment and build a career. Although my duties include researching, conceptualizing, developing, and implementing new program policies and training, my most significant responsibility is staying true to the Queens Library slogan; enriching the lives of all participants that walk through the doors by giving some hope, some a second chance, and others a beginning.
Condoleezza Rice once stated, “There is no greater challenge, and there is no greater honor than to be in public service.” While every day may bring a new challenge, I know there is nothing better than serving the community. Collectively, my experiences have all shown different aspects of service, they have taught and prepared me for my future career in public service. Through all of this, I learned that to achieve a more just society; we need more just public servants. I hope to become one of those just public servants who work tirelessly to change our
