The American Industrial Revolution was a change in human life conditions that took place in the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. There was change in technology, society, education, economy, culture, and medicine. Each were very essential in the growth of the economy. Public Health was something that had to be focused on during the Industrial Revolution. Without public health, how would people survive? Doctors needed technology for resources, education to be well-educated and successful, and medicine so they could treat certain diseases that were affecting the human population. Another public health problem that people faced during the Industrial Revolution was that doctors were not well educated. The outcome of doctors not being well educated was that instead of making things better for people, they did more harm. They did not have enough knowledge and were not trained for certain procedures. Later, during the Industrial Revolution healthcare started improving. People started noticing that healthcare was a big thing and realized it needed to be focused on more. Technology and science concentrated more on finding cures and finding ways to prevent diseases.
The first Public Health Act was introduced in 1848. This act gave towns the right to set up local boards of health. The local boards of health had the power to deal with water supplies, standard of foods, trash removal, and other sanitary matters.
