Psycho's Suicides

Damien and Psycho left the crowd of people and walked behind the old and decrepit barn like structure and began to walk down the narrow footpath that would lead them to Alessandra. While they walked in silence Psycho wondered how Chris had managed to slip past them undetected. When Chris’ father had crossed over Psycho was able to sense his presence much like the way a shark can smell blood in the water from miles away. Ever since Psycho had heard the news about Chris he had an uncomfortable sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach that something was about to go terribly wrong. If Chris had the ability to hid his presence, then what other capabilities might he process that Psycho did not yet know about. Would Chris be able to cast his magical …show more content…
When the saplings had grown into tress and the time came for all of the souls to retrieve their bodies, the suicides did not reunite fully with theirs, because they discarded them willingly. Instead, the returned bodies hung on the soul-trees’ branches and forced each soul to see and feel it’s once human form that they had rejected in the world of the living and it is only through this eternal desecration that the suicides can find expression.” Psycho explained to Damien wondering how Damien was ever able to make it this far into the underworld. Damien was not the typical person who would want to join his clan. He was not big or fierce looking, in fact, he was just a little boy who looked like he did not belong here at all. The only advantage Damien had to offer was that he could take on any form and be able to disguise himself in countless different ways. Finally, Psychos curiosity got the better of him and he asked Damien, “So how is it that you came to be …show more content…
He seemed to have some kind of infatuation with the Black Arts because it was all he ever talked about. One day he came to me and said that he had found a conjuring spell to call the devil himself. I was young and curious so I went along with it.” Damien said as he walked down the road watching the half bird and half woman creature rip and shred branches that it had broken off from the trunks of the soul tree and trying to block out the high pitched screams from the trees. “We went to a place in the woods and built a fire in the middle of a circle on the ground that he drew from the numerous containers of salt that he had in his backpack. We took some LSD because he said that it would free our minds and that we should take off all our cloths in order to be closer with nature because it would help to amplify and expand our magical

Throughout the novel, Kesey incorporates metaphors and further characterizes one of the main characters, McMurphy, to critique the authority of the doctors that work with the patients in the hospital. To the other patients in the ward, McMurphy preaches to them about the importance of sticking up for themselves against the other nurses, doctors, and even patients. The author uses a rabbit metaphor to illustrate the difference between the patients and the doctors. “All of us in here are rabbits” (Kesey, 61). In the ward, the patients are the rabbits and the doctors are the wolves.…

It can be seen as a symbol of the main character 's degradation of his mind. The main character first had a "tenderness of heart was even so conspicuous as to make" friends with his animals (The Black Cat). Age Some studies have found that younger inmates are at risk of suicide while others have found that older inmates are at greater risk. Daniel (2006), supports that younger inmates are at risk of suicide; inmates between 25 and 34 years old have committed more than half of the suicides in prisons. Aday (2003) cited in Tartaro and Ruddell (2006) support that the elderly population 55 years and older are at higher risk of suicide because they suffer from higher levels of depression and suicidal ideations. Dillon (2013), agrees that inmates 55 and older are at a higher risk of committing suicide compared to inmates that are ages 18 through 24.…

This shows an important setting in “The Black Cat” while also setting a mood of fear. The narrator in “The Black Cat” also uses feeling over reason while making choices. This causes him to make many bad decisions. “Because I knew that it had loved me, and because I felt it had given me no reason of offense; - hung it because I knew that in so doing I was committing a sin - a deadly sin that would so jeopardize my immortal soul” (Poe 2). My character name is Norman Bates from one of the most famous horror films of all time Psycho. I chose to do my research on the 1998 version (Van Sant, 1998) because I knew that it would be in color and for me color helps bring out small details better than black and white. This is a little overview of Norman. Norman Bates lives next to his family owned motel named Bates Motel with his deceased mother Norma Bates. When guests check into the hotel, he prepares dinner for them, then murders them while dressed up as Norma.…
