I am writing in response to the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner position opening, at your Los Angeles outpatient psychiatric clinic, recently posted on the Telecare corporation website. As a recent graduate from Azusa Pacific University with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner program, I have a patient centered approach to psychiatric care. My interest in mental health began during my first undergraduate degree in psychology, which lead me to the field of psychiatric nursing. My clinical rotations have been through the County of Los Angeles Department of Mental Health, Exodus Recovery Inc., and Telecare Corporation. Therefore I am familiar not only with your facility, but the county mental health system.

I recall how the nurses became his greatest advocate and always voiced their concern for him. In those moments I realized I had found my calling in the field of nursing.…

After watching the four Texas Nurses Association (TNA) videos, I believe there are several necessities that should be accomplished in order to develop a professional level of Nurse Practitioner. First, is becoming involved with a professional association, second is becoming conscious of health policy, and thirdly is becoming engaged in health policy. Without these actions, the Nurse Practitioner is performing at a basic level and will not thrive at the professional level. The first priority is to join, if not already a member, a professional organization like the TNA.…
