Differing Sources of Energy; Differing States of the World Energy is the source of nearly all our everyday tools and amenities, without it papers would not be able to be written and getting to school would be an adventure in itself. The different sources of energy provide differing amounts of energy and differing amounts of pollution, costs and environmental impacts. Nuclear energy, coal power, tidal wave power and wind energy are just a few of the different types of energy we use to supplement our needs. Each source of energy has its own pros and cons on cost, environment and convenience. Solar power is a newer source of energy and it is becoming very popular and it’s a great source of energy. Solar power is renewable because the sun is always going to be there. It can be sporadic because of the weather and the sun is not out at night, but you can store energy that you have collected through the panels in large batteries so that you have power to use at night time. The downsides to solar power are that if you do not have batteries that can hold a lot of energy and there is a huge storm or is cloudy for several days you may not get power for whatever you need it for. It is also extremely expensive to put into place; however, it is getting cheaper as time goes on and it can pay for itself just by helping your electricity bill go down. While it is a clean source of energy it causes pollution to make because of the process it takes in the factories to make it. Another renewable source of energy that has been becoming popular in recent years is wind energy. Wind power is a clean, green and efficient source of energy. There is always going to be wind, but some other places have much more than other so using wind turbines would be more practical in areas like the Midwest.
