Nuclear Energy vs. Renewable Energy
After Second Industrial Revolution, and with the development of the world, we cannot leave to use fossil fuel in the industry and in people`s life. But fossil fuel cause a lot of side effects, like pollution of environment and global warming, and it is limited, so the cost is increasing. So mankind have found other energy through developing technology to replace it. Nuclear energy and renewable energy are the solution and the energy that can replace fossil fuel.
What is nuclear energy? Nuclear energy is the energy in the nucleus of an atom. This energy can be obtained in two ways: nuclear fusion and nuclear fission. In nuclear fusion, energy is released when atoms are combined or fused together to form a larger atom. The sun produces energy like this. In nuclear fission, atoms are split in to smaller atoms, releasing energy. It is one of the biggest contributors to produce energy to the world, producing approximately 24% of the total electricity supply in OECD countries.
Why they use nuclear energy to produce energy? First, lower greenhouse gas emissions. According to OECD-NEA reports …show more content…
But those two energy are very important to mankind in developing. Those energy produce energy that are clean. But quantities of energy is different. Nuclear energy can produce large quantity of energy, but there are hazardous factors. If people disposal nuclear waste with the inappropriate ways, it cause pollution and biological mutation through radioactive in atmosphere and water. If nuclear energy plants explode with some carelessness, it will make city like Chernobyl and Fukushima, serious result. Renewable energy cannot produce large quantities of energy, but there is almost no side effects except destroying our natural. To solve it`s problem, we have to build more facilities and develop
