As claimed by The Global Issue Blog, The U.S. military spending budget is used to pay training, healthcare, salaries of civilian and uniformed personnel, also, to maintain arms, equipment and facilities to fund operations and make new developments.(13 key pros and cons of military spending, pg 1). What they are insisting is that the money is not going to waste and it is being used for important and civilized matters. Although some may argue that the large amount of money in the budget is not necessary, military spending should not be cut or decreased,for the reason being, that in order for our nation to be protected we need qualified personnel and proper training for them because the armed forces are responsible for our national security.

The money from the budget is also responsible to pay and hire the best defense manufacturing companies to manufacture specialized clothing, weapons, transportation,etc. The specialized clothing that is made for personnel has to be able to go through any type of weather, or setting. The weapons that are made need to be made so that it is fast and easy but also safe for the personnel to use when under attack such as rifles, grenades, machine guns,etc. The transportation that the defense manufacturing companies create are aircrafts, ships and boats, motor vehicles. They must be created bullet proof and have compartments for firearms like bombs. Around $14 Billion dollars are spent on the manufacturing of all defense equipment and transportation. The U.S. Military needs to be prepared and ready to quickly win a two front war. In both World Wars there were many battles that the U.S. lost because we were not prepared and properly trained. Training for the U.S. military personnel is crucial. Every person that enlists must go through basic training, this will strengthen them and show them the basics of procedures and drills that must be done to help in the contribution of winning a war. The U.S. Coast Guard is a unique branch of the military responsible for maritime duties, from ensuring safe and lawful commerce, to performing rescue missions in severe conditions.(U.S. Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve). The Coast Guard uses aircrafts, boats, and cutters on a daily basis to watch over for any threats overseas. Most of the money from their part of the budget goes to pay for that transportation. As can be seen, the large amount of money that goes to the budget of the Department of Defense goes to different branches. Each branch serves an important role and has a certain purpose. Their mission is to keep the United States, as well as our allies, safe from foreign threats. The personnel in all of these branches risk their lives to serve this country and it’s people. Instead of trying to make their jobs hard enough by taking away money from them, people should be more grateful that the U.S. has one of the strongest military in the world that is here to protect and defend this
